Dear Lord, Creator, divine Spirit of What Is, let me take the best of me into the coming year. I almost added, “and leave the rest behind,” but that’s probably unrealistic.
delighted to see this. Feels like the acknowledgement for re-set that I need. Mine are from The Laws of Detachment (I don't know where these came from originally, so can't give an accurate citation) but it's " let others be themselves, let myself be myself, don't force situations, know that solutions will appear, know that uncertainty is reality, & embrace it." xo
A very inspiring message, Louise. I wish I could follow it more. Rachel heard something the other day that I wish we would have practiced when raising our kids. Every night another parent asked her kids, "What was the best part of your day?" Being raised as a Christian Scientist, I heard the message about being positive and denying evil every day. It didn't take.
There’s something to be said for looking on the bright side, but as with anything it can go too far I guess. And yes, I remember when our daughter was little sometimes initiating dinner conversations with “what was the best (or most interesting) thing that happened today?” It definitely led to more conversation than “what did you do today?”
Thanks for letting me know, Laura! I find when I write something for myself it often ends up being just what someone else also needed to hear. That’s one of the best parts of writing.
Amen:) Thank you!
Beautifully said!!

That sounds very Buddhist. Thanks so much for letting me know your delight 😊
I agree. Words, spoken or written, are so powerful. Thanks again for yours.

This is so incredibly beautiful and such perfect timing for this 40 something's season of life. Thank you for your authenticity and vulnerability.
So glad it resonated with you, Lindsay. The 40s are a rich season!
Louise, thank you. I needed this today. Your words are simply beautiful and powerful. xo
